Match Report
Christ's Hospital Boys-U15B vs  The King's School, Canterbury
On: Saturday, 24 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

The U15B team defended with determination during the first half, holding King's to just two tries, during a fairly even first 30 minutes in greasy conditions. A penalty try to CH, just before the interval, seemed to signal the chance of a second-half resurgence, with Henry Beckett and Josh Adeyemi starting to show signs of wearing down the opposing tacklers. After the break, the visitors exploited gaps around the fringes in the CH defence, scoring several long-range tries. Alex Manuel and David Maloney continued trying to attack bravely but even the steely leadership of Captain Alex Merry could not hold together the now-fragmenting side. After the match, the players reflected on the importance of "positive talk", particularly when things became difficult. With a full week's training and recovery before the season finale against Churcher's, CH has an opportunity to set this disappointing performance behind them.

Notable performances:

Henry Beckett (support in attack/vocal in defence)

Alex Merry (consistently positive leadership)

Man of the Match:

Tim Grabauskas (determination)
