Match Report
Christ's Hospital Development XV vs  Sutton Valence School
On: Saturday, 15 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

Christ’s Hospital started strongly and quickly proved to have the advantage in the pack in both size and power. Were it not for some committed defending by Sutton Valence, we might easily have scored early on. Sutton did have a couple of strong, quick runners in the backs who ran some good lines and proved hard to stop. It was this that led to their first try and, despite our forward dominance, our backs never seemed to have the space and time at rucks that they should have had. We did allow ourselves to lose possession on too many occasions when the momentum was with us but fair praise should be given to the opposition’s tenacity in defence. The final result indicated just how close this game was and how easily it could have gone the other way.
